Field Ministry

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the one bringing good news,
The one proclaiming peace.”

We appreciate any help that visitors are able to contribute to the ministry here. Here are some points to bear in mind so that you have an enjoyable time and know what to expect.

Territory

Our territory is the entire island of Koh Samui. All the neighboring islands (Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, etc) are unassigned. Enjoy all the informal ministry you like in these vastly unworked places. We have literature available at the Kingdom Hall in many languages.

Getting around

Changes to schedule

Occasionally, in the case of an assembly, CO visit, or flooding, we may change the field service schedule. If in doubt, please contact a local friend to ask or CONTACT US.

Challenges

We have visitors at almost every meeting and field service arrangement. This presents a challenge to get to know and strengthen our own local brothers and sisters. With that in mind, it is possible that you could attend an arrangement and there is not a local brother or sister available to work with you or transport you in the ministry. But don’t worry! We can always suggest a variety of locations where you may enjoy informal or business ministry, or a brother may be able to assign a small door-door territory to you.

Thai Ministry

Many of the Thai publishers do not speak English, and the foreigners in the Thai congregation need to focus on speaking Thai, which presents a challenge for them to accommodate many tourists who are not also learning Thai. If you would like to join the Thai ministry, we recommend you attend a Thai meeting and make personal arrangements with one of the publishers in that congregation. Learning a few key Thai phrases from our JW language app will be helpful. You are also welcome to take a supply of Thai literature from the hall for informal ministry wherever you go.
